Google Maps

What is it?

Google Maps is the most well-known map service on the net offering basic street maps, terrain maps, satellite images and hybrid view which is a combination of the street maps and satellite images.
      How does it work?
The Google Maps feature relies on digital map images from NAVTEQ. NAVTEQ provides map data to many different clients, including in-vehicle navigation systems. A company called deCarta -- formerly Telcontar -- provides the applications that power the mapping features. Google employees create the applications that combine the images from NAVTEQ and the mapping capabilities provided by deCarta to create the features you see in Google Maps.

      Who developed it?
Google Maps first started as a C++ program designed by two Danish brothers, Lars and Jens Eilstrup Rasmussen, at the Sydney-based company Where 2 Technologies.

      Its benefits and extra information:
Google maps is wildly popular and frequently used by most of the world's population in developed countries. It helps and benefits a lot of people by guiding them through traffic and getting them to their desired destination. It may also mentions the time that the person is expected to their destination. The navigation system also shows landmarks in the town/city.

Reflection:
What were the keywords that you used in the search engine to get your results?
The keywords I used in order to get the results I wanted were Google Maps.

Did you get your results in the first attempt?

No,I did not get the results I wanted on my first attempt because most of the websites were talking about the ratings and the views of certain types of place to see from Google Maps.

What were the problems that you faced when searching and how did you refine your search to get the desired result?
The problem that I faced was finding little about Google Maps. I overcame that obstacle by searching each question word by word.
